Geard is an indoor herb garden.
13h15m (5 logs) from 28 Blóstm 227 to 24 Mǽdland 227.
This project aims to provide fresh herbs for use in cooking. Since the building in which I live gets no direct sunlight, Geard facilitates growth with 2x 18W fluorescent lamps, on a 16 hours on/8 hours off cycle. This light is suspended from chains so that the distance from the plants can be adjusted. The nursery level also features a plexiglass lid to cut down on glare, while still letting the plants be visible. Currently, Geard has basil, mint, rosemary, parsley and oregano growing in its nursery.
Future work will involve hooking up an arduino with sensors in order to monitor and visualise various metrics, such as air humidity.
